Why do you first add the tracks to you collection in rekordbox and analyze the grid? Isn't it possible to first analyse grid, key and set cue point and then export to rekordbox after?

I’m about to import my WAV files from Mixed In Key into Serato DJ Pro. I keep reading that people are having issues when doing this. Therefore, I ask: Since I’m using WAV files and a MacBook Pro m3, I must check the ‘Automatically rename files after processing’ option under the Rename Files section? Right? If that is indeed correct, is there anything else i should be aware of when using WAV files, or does it no longer matter? Last I read, aiff files seemed to give people the least trouble. Just trying to figure all of this out. Thank you. 🙏

Energy estimations are completely useless because they are wrong all the time, same with cue points, too many and in the wrong places, work on that please.

I'm wondering if Odesi is still active and all. Seems like the perfect tool for me to practise theory. Been using Hookpad so far but looking for something a bit more than Hookpad, but not as complicated as Ableton.

Personal Preference, But I'd Love To Be Able To Change How It Sets Auto Hot Cues, E.g. Every 8/16/32/64 Bars, As Sometimes The Cues Aren't Set Correctly & I Still Have To Manually Adjust A Lot Of Tracks To Fit How The Auto Cue System Works, Probably Dreaming But It's Worth An Ask, Thanks!

i have spent six FUCKING HOURS just trying to find the goddamned xml file with the cue points from mixed in key... there's no way it can be this hard. this is insane. there's no way anybody made the software this fucking stupid. any other competent software works like this: export -> file. that's it. 2 clicks. 2 clicks, file exported. MIK is garbage. do not download. do not pay.

Hey MIK team.. I purchased the software along with platinum notes 10 .. the question I have.. once we import the files into rekordbox how do have the tracks in order of key, for example, 1b 1b 2A 2B and so on?

If i get 10, do i have to redo everything on 11 when i get that free upgrade?

I wish Captain Chords was available as offline-installation. I don't feel like "owning" a product, when i can't use it on my Laptop while traveling. It's really weird to read the explanation for it in the FAQ "Using cloud-tech means a smaller installation footprint on your computer, since we don’t need to include the masses of music theory and performance data that works behind-the-scenes to make Captain Plugins so effective." I think musicians can handle some Gigabytes of installation files.. :D

I have trouble understanding which product I should get. I want to find the key of samples in my DAW but also of individual chops. Let's say I chop up a sample of a piano chord progression and want to know the specific key of that one chopped chord. Can any of your products give me the key for that?

I bought Captain "suite" yesterday and can say this is quite a piece of innovative music creation software! Learning curve is easy for a newbie like me thanks to a very intuitive interface. Andy, your tutorial is outstanding, very clear, thank you! Just one question: I have not been able to see how it is possible to cut or divide/slice a chord (just one, not the whole progression) in smaller pieces. How to do this please? I will of course watch all your other tuto's, perhaps I'll find there.

One thing I'm not be able to do, is to get the converted file in Rekordbox. In Itunes it is converted but in Rekordbox it still uses the old file. I've watched the walkthrough and tried a couple of things but without success. Can you help me with this issue?

In MIK go to PERSONALIZE and change the RB file to match the one you created in RB. Close and re-open MIK, go to PERSONALIZE and check to make sure the file saved, EXPORT!!!! Closing and re-opening MIK seemed to be the fix.

Am I the only one having problems with the current version? When loading songs in MIK the Programm starts to stutter then the song plays but I can’t see the waveform as well as the cues which got placed automatically. Furthermore MIK shows me that it has added cues to the songs but when I export them to my xml file it changes nothing. Tried to reinstall but it’s just the same problem.

Amazing! How could I compare in parallel the key and bpm analysis of Rekordbox and the key and bpm analysis of Mixed in key in Rekordbox? Is it possible to have the information in separate tags but visible at the same time? Thank you for your answers ! That would help me a lot!

When you are mixing, your master level should be -6 db maximum -5.5 db to get a lot of headroom for mastering. It will be the loudest master possible once you add a limiter and compressor. I recommend iZotope suite for mastering, but the new Logic AI mastering tool is pretty good too. Judging by the individual levels of each track, I can say you are in the ballpark, but your master always shows -0.3 db for some reason (drums too loud with harmonics with bass also the arp is loud)... I'm just saying for educational purpose. When you said you were going to mix it a little and listen back you should show a proper mix. You are probably aware of the -6 db rule, but I'm just saying...

I have heared tha mixed in key can give you the correct results on musical key up to 85%. I still see producers on youtube trying your software and telling on the camera that is far away the results of your app than the original key they produce the track.

What it needs most is better major key detection. It tends to error more with extended mixes than radio edits. So, perhaps analyze the middle portion.

My suggestions: - option to turn off update notifications - option to turn off library - access keyboard without loading a track
